Help! I can't change my password!
So I finally got my account back after being blocked out of it since Friday, and I'm trying to change my password and I can't do it. I've gone to the PlayNC site (why do we have to do it from there anyway?) and it says Guild Wars isn't even added to my game account thing. So I try to add them, use every single access code I have, and it says invalid serial code. Not to mention it wouldn't even let me log in to begin with, I had to re-create the whole account.
Will someone PLEASE tell me how to change my password so I can get back to my life? Thank you! |

First off, use the search function, there is hundreds of treads about this. If it says you need to go to the PlayNC site, it means your account is bound to NC because you bought something from the store. If this is true, then log in to the account you used to buy with, and you will be able to access your account and change your password there. From what I hear, if it is not bound to PlayNC, you should be able to change it right from the game client.

Hello, Tender Wolf,
I went through the same hell starting Thursday night, and it finally ended Saturday evening. It started when I tried to reset my password when I was at the Guild Wars login screen. Even though I have purchased upgrades from the Guild Wars store, I did not have an NC Soft account, either that or I did not know what my NC Soft account name was. I finally created one, and when I did, I was supposed to "register" my game keys for my Guild Wars games, went through that only to be told my game keys were invalid. I was like WTH. So, I went into the Guild Wars website and went into the support tab, and from there opened a support ticket which took me BACK into the NCSoft site which now became NC Soft Support. I explained in detail my issue, and they responded back quickly that same night, except I did not check back until I came back from home Friday night from work, and it will be a back and forth. You will have to have ALL your Guild Wars game keys for each game, Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, and EOTN. They make ask for some personal info after the fact, in my case they wanted my birthdate, so as soon as I gave them that, they changed my NCSoft login, gave me a temporary password so I can use a new one, and THEN I was able to change my Guild Wars password through the very same NCSoft site where my keys are now registered, thanks to the support team at NC Soft. I was happily able to get back into my game after all was said and done Saturday evening. Just open a support ticket with them, they are pretty quick to respond. Get ready for alot of "back and forth" Good Luck Cheers, Star Asia Sorry for the long winded post, I wish you well, and hoped it helped just a little bit. |

Glad I could help!
Keep checking back with them CONSTANTLY, they send you an email everytime they "update" something regarding your issue, and sometimes they are very quick. The drag for me was on Saturday, when I waited SEVERAL hours for them to respond to my response when I gave them all my game keys on Friday night. It was not until Saturday evening when I finally heard from them, and 2 to 3 very quick replies later, I got back into my game. I wish the same for you as well. Cheers, Star Asia |

Give them time to get to your ticket as they tend to get backed up at times (and they no longer do much on weekends). If you haven't heard back in 24 hrs then send another message and include your original ticket number.
As a last resort you can send an email to [email protected] with CAN'T CHANGE PASSWORD in the subject line. Include your ticket number and all your access key info in the message.

Always cool to see a TW thread rezzed.
Whackjob that she is. As for your account Doom, follow Darcy's advise - they do get around to responding, it just takes time sometimes. -m0r |
